It’s remarkable to think that the tools that we now depend upon to communicate today were merely science fiction a few years back.

For instance, over 72% of us in the UK now own a smartphone, enabling us to communicate in a way that would have been unimaginable a few years back. We’re able to make calls, instant message, Google virtually anything, play games, run apps, tweet, post, and read the news with the touch of our fingertips.

Moreover, in terms of the Internet, twenty years ago it only accounted for 1% of the information flowing through two-way telecommunications networks. By 2000 this had increased to 51% and is now more than 97%. Today the Internet continues to grow, driven by ever greater amounts of online information, commerce, entertainment and social networking.

So what’s next for the ever evolving Comms Market? To answer this question we’ve sponsored and contributed to an exciting new publication from channel publisher Comms Dealer. ‘Future Comms’ carries the insights and opinions of many leaders across the communications technologies market including Gartner’s research VP, Tiffani Bova, leading economist Andrew Sentence and Comms Vision content director John Chapman.
